Fully designed and developed in-house, our new 205 bowrider will have all the features any good NZ made boat should have, while being integrated with well styled lines and good proportions to offer up a very versatile bowrider that will be just as comfortable offshore as it would be in an enclosed waterway.
The boats hull is based off the 190 cuddy cabin hull that has had an impressive reputation for being a very stable and well performing hull, with a nice soft ride.
We initially molded a 190 hull without its inner planning strakes, before molding another transom section of the hull as you will see in the first photo. From there we cut the back off the original 190 hull and extended it out with the additional molded transom section. Once it was all joined up and glassed, we cut the upper section of the sides of the hull off, before foam filling the inside of the hull and creating a new shear line and overall profile of the hull. This allowed us to add more freeboard to the sides of the hull and give the whole hull shape a more modern style.
From there the rest of the process has been one of completing everything from scratch to provide the completed hull mold and now the full deck shape. To confirm the overall style, fit and sizing of the deck, we made a temporary mold of the plug shape, which has allowed us to pull an initial prototype of the 205 from which we will be able to test the full ability of the hull and boat while being able to make any final changes to the plug, before creating the final deck mold.
Now fully completed, the 205 has been rigorously tested to be sure that what is on offer is a strong, well built, performance boat that can handle the speeds it will travel with up to a 300hp outboard!
