Marlborough Rapier Gelcoat Repairs

This boat came in in some desperate need of gelcoat repairs. We went ahead and set the boat up in the workshop removing the fairlead from the bow and prepping for repairs. All damaged holes were drilled and ground out and prepped for minor fiberglass laminate repairs. Sand back fibreglass and complete filling and fairing to a smooth flat surface. Complete with colour matching gelcoat and prep all surfaces for respray. Carry out gelcoat respray and allow to cure fully. Sand all respray areas flat and buff to a gloss finish. Refit fairlead and clean down the foredeck.

A bit more in-depth work involved with the hull repairs, starting with hoisting the boat up from the trailer and setting it up on stands. Complete griding and sanding to all required areas and clean down. Apply fibreglass laminate to any major damage or area that require excess grinding to remove delaminated fibreglass. Sand fibreglass flat and complete filling and fairing to a smooth flat surface around all repairs. Mask out and colour match gelcoat. Complete resprays to all areas and allow to cure. Sand back gelcoat and buff up to a gloss finish. Cleaned down ready to be delivered back to the happy customer.
