Fi Glass Dominator Keel Gelcoat Repairs

For keel repairs, we begin by hoisting the boat off the trailer & securely positioning it on stands. All areas are carefully masked out and prepped for respraying. To retore the keel profile, minor fairing work is completed to achieve a smooth, even surface for further preparation for resparying. White gelcoat is mixed up to match and applied to keel area. The area is set to cure. Complete sanding of gelcoat to smooth off & bring through to 500 grit in prep for keel-guard. Remove all masking from hull.

Process: With boat off the trailer and setup, measure & mark out for keelguard & mask off area. Prep any remaining areas of the keel to remove gloss & unpack keelguard. Apply adhesive primer to masked area & remove all masking. Heat keelguard up to appropriate temperature and apply to keel area ensuring all air pockets are removed and a clean application of the keelguard. Allow keel guard to cool & hoist boat back up off stands and lower back on to trailer.
